Mortgage Insurance through a Lender should be Illegal.
This week I have had to go to bat for a client once again, due to BS coverage called mortgage insurance thru a lender. The unlicensed people having you sign up for coverage with a loan or credit of any sort is not good coverage and in my personal experience most of these people don't have a clue. It is important to get coverage and it can keep your interest rate down. However if you are not underwritten and if you don't own your own policy you shouldn't bother. This inferior coverage that will likely not cover you if you have had any medical condition ever or will only cover certain debts will not be all that helpful for financial planning.
